Architecture Patterns
Proven patterns for production systems.
Battle-tested architecture patterns built on EEv3 faces. Each pattern includes the faces involved, trade-offs, and implementation guidance.
Event-Driven Architecture
Decouple services with asynchronous event flows. Producers emit events, consumers react independently, and the system scales each path separately.
CQRS with Event Sourcing
Separate read and write models for optimal performance. Every state change is an immutable event, enabling full audit trails and temporal queries.
Microservices on EEv3
Independently deployable services communicating over queues and config-driven routing. Each service owns its data and scales autonomously.
Edge-First Applications
Push compute and content to the edge for sub-50ms responses globally. Static assets on CDN, dynamic logic on edge functions, data at the origin.
Data Pipeline
Ingest, transform, and export data at scale. Queue-based ingestion, serverless transforms, database storage, and scheduled exports.
Multi-Region Active-Active
Serve traffic from multiple regions simultaneously with automatic failover. Replicated databases, geo-routed DNS, and edge-cached assets.
Example
Event-Driven Architecture
Producer Conductor Consumers
-------- --------- ---------
| | /do event | | fan-out | |
| App | ------------> | EEv3 | -----------> | Queue |
| | | | | | |
-------- --------- | ---------
|
| ---------

+----> | Stream|
| | |
| ---------
|
| ---------

+----> |Webhook|

Flow:
1. App emits event via /do endpoint
2. Conductor routes to ee.webhook + ee.queue + ee.streaming
3. Each consumer processes independently
4. Failed deliveries retry with exponential backoff
