General Migration Checklist
Regardless of your source platform, follow this checklist for a smooth migration.
- Audit your current stack and identify all services in use
- Map each service to its EEv3 face equivalent
- Set up your EEv3 entity and configure authentication
- Migrate data: export from current provider, import into EEv3
- Update authentication: swap provider SDKs for @evileye/sdk
- Run integration tests against the EEv3 sandbox
- Perform a staged rollout with dual-write mode
- Monitor for errors and verify data consistency
- Cut over DNS and disable the old provider
- Remove legacy SDK dependencies and clean up
Zero-Downtime Migration Strategy
EEv3 supports dual-write mode during migrations. Your application writes to both the old and new platform simultaneously, ensuring no data loss during the transition period.
Phase 1: Dual Write
Write to both platforms. Read from the old platform. Verify data consistency between the two.
Phase 2: Dual Read
Continue dual-writing. Switch reads to EEv3. Compare results against the old platform for validation.
Phase 3: Cutover
Stop writing to the old platform. All traffic flows through EEv3. Keep the old platform in read-only mode for rollback.
Phase 4: Cleanup
Remove old SDK dependencies. Decommission the old platform. Update DNS records.
